Bartholomew Beal: Ruhr Objekt 2

This solo exhibition in Essen, Germany, was an effort to display Beal’s wide range across a number of pieces that reflected his literary background. Michael Curth wrote of his work that “there is nothing bleak about his work: if it is at times discomforting it is never cruel and there is a generosity of technique and palette that makes even his largest works accessible.”
